About:
Cooking Avatar is a 3D adventure platformer that I worked on as my final project for a Level Design course at the University of Texas at Austin from March 9, 2020 - April 22, 2020.

Responsibilities:
For this project, I collaborated with two other students to come up with concept and narrative of the game. I was responsible for the forest domain including initial concept, and white boxing. After all sections were white boxed, I assisted in merging each section into one level. I designed and scripted gameplay functionality using C# programming language; including damaging plants in the forest domain, burn over time effect in fire domain, bobbing and slippery platforms in water domain, dragon enemies in the air domain, moving platforms, collectables, waypoint, and all UI elements including player health bar, item tally, and end screen. I also was responsible for writing and inputting all player facing text.

Gameplay Elements:
Gameplay elements were used to differentiate between the different domains. The forest domain included Venus-flytrap style plants that deal damage to the player if they walk into them, the water domain used moving platforms to give the player the feeling of jumping on glaciers, the fire domain included a mechanic that would slowly take away the players health to emulate being in the extreme heat, and the air domain had flying creatures that would knock the player off the clouds.

Level Design:
Each team member was tasked with designing a separate portion of the level from the ground up that would later be merged into a final combined level.
